HOW CAN YOU KEEP YOUR MIND CALM IN THE ERA OF CHAOS?

Making your mind more peaceful and a better place to be.

It’s self-evident to have that chaos because of work and other stuff.

Chaos is the opposite of restoration or healing. When amid chaos, we imagine things can’t get much worse, and we might even think they’ll never get better. But once in a while, those encountering chaos can see the positive aspects of the experience.

Whether you are the chaos creator or just caught in the fray, the best way to bring sanity back to you is to be an island of stability. It’s more complicated than it sounds when people run and scream with their hair on fire.

We must employ coping devices to help us navigate through them to move from the darkness into the light. You also perceive the world differently. Stress makes us narrowly focused, preventing us from seeing the bigger picture. When we’re calmer, our attention becomes broader. We see more things.

Being able to attend more means that you notice more things about other people, and you’re able to communicate with them in more powerful ways. High stress and anxiety (or any negative emotion) make us self-focused for an evolutionary reason: When our ancestors were stressed, it was because they were in a survival situation. It was good to focus on yourself to save your life.

We know how to become stressed. Most of us are good at activating our adrenal system and getting wound up. The question then becomes, how do you wind down? Research suggests several practices that feel good and put us into a calmer, more relaxed state—from which we can cope better with whatever life throws at us.

Cultivating calm isn’t about avoiding every kind of stressful emotion. When we make time to breathe, connect, and care, some of the negative feelings we’ve been running from might catch up with us. But that’s the time for self-compassion; feeling bad is okay. Resilience doesn’t mean we’ll be happy all the time, but it does mean we have the energy, the mindset, and the support from others to help us weather the storm.

Thank You!
